Journal of College Student Development

The Journal of College Student Development (JCSD) seeks nominations and applications for two of its Editorial Boards:

  • The JCSD Editorial Board (ED) is for established scholars with a publication record.
  • The Research in Brief (RIB) Review Board (RB) is for advanced doctoral students and starting scholars and will review shorter RIB manuscripts.

Both boards have three-year term commitment beginning January 2021. JCSD has a history of bringing diverse topics and methodologies to the forefront of higher education and student affairs research. For this reason, we seek reviewers who understand how their own identities influences the scholarly process.

The rigorous double-masked review process is vital to the quality of our journal. JCSD is published six times a year and accepts fewer than 10% of the manuscripts submitted each year.

Editorial Board members are expected to review 10-12 manuscripts per year, including over the summer. Self-nominations are welcomed. Individuals with established publication records and advanced methodological expertise are particularly encouraged to apply for the ED. This year the ED will be selecting between 10 to 12 Board members. Selection will be completed by end of October 2020.

To apply: Send a brief letter of interest highlighting your scholarly expertise and how your own positionalities influences scholarly review and process. The letter should be attached to the CV. by October 10th to jcsd@acpa.nche.edu  For more information, contact Editor Vasti Torres at vatorres@iu.edu or Executive Associate Editor for RIB, Jay Garvey at jcgarvey@uvm.edu
