Dear Friends, Family and Colleagues,
We want to express our concern for the people injured and our deepest sympathy for the families of those killed in the Bastille celebration in Nice, France today.  Please reach out to those in your communities who are vulnerable, care for yourselves and join us in lighting candles of hope where despair keeps watch and candles of grace to ease heavy burdens.

May we put our trust in the power of good to overcome evil and the power of love to overcome hatred. May we have the capacity to imagine and the faith to believe in a world emancipated from violence, a reborn world where fear will no longer lead human beings to commit injustice, nor selfishness make them bring suffering to others.

Help us to dedicate our work, thought and energy to the task of making peace.
