I have been involved with Wisconsin College Personnel Association (WCPA) since moving to Wisconsin from the South five years ago. ACPA and WCPA have given me the opportunity to not only learn from others through various presentations, journal articles, webinars, etc; but I get to share my knowledge by presenting each year at the annual conference and get involved with new technology, like hosting webinars.
Working in the field of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse (AODA) with things like drug interventions and recovery programs can be a challenge as there are not a high number of professionals that do that in my area. ACPA helps me to get to know professionals in my specialty area and compare best practices to improve the quality of life for the students I am fortunate to serve.
Now serving as the President-Elect for WCPA, I am able to move the organization forward and lead an extremely hard working group of commission chairs and executives.
I am fortunate to have ACPA in my life for many reasons.
