We would like to congratulate Sumun L. Pendakur, Ed.D., Associate Dean for Institutional Diversity at Harvey Mudd College, and Ande Diaz, Ph.D., Associate Provost for Diversity & Organizational Development at Allegheny College, for being selected to participate in The National Association of Diversity Officers in Higher Education’s (NADOHE) inaugural Chief of Diversity Officer Fellows Program (CDOFP) for the 2014–2015 academic year.
The CDOFP is a professional leadership program of mentorship for new- and early- career chief diversity officers. Pendakur and Diaz will be mentored by a senior-level CDO; develop a leadership plan; and examine their institutions’ diversity issues, policies, procedures, politics and climate, as well as the mentor’s leadership style, strategies, successes and challenges. Grants will be awarded to the fellows to facilitate the program.
“We are delighted to offer this unprecedented opportunity for a new- and/or early-career Chief Diversity Officer to obtain real-time guidance and on-the-ground learning from a more senior colleague,” said NADOHE President Dr. Benjamin D. Reese. “The goal is to enhance the Fellows’ professional knowledge and experience in order to stimulate strategic thinking and advance outcomes at their home institutions.”
