Updated ACPA/NASPA Professional Competencies Released

As a new academic year begins, we are thrilled to share the culmination of the work of the ACPA/NASPA Professional Competencies Task Force. We are so thankful for the work of the Task Force and for the feedback received from thousands of members at both associations. The Task Force shared recommended changes to the professional competencies including the combination of two competencies (ethics and personal foundations), addition of one competency (technology) and name changes for several competencies.

The Governing Board of ACPA-College Student Educators International and the Board of Directors of NASPA – Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education jointly affirmed the work of the Task Force and approved the new Professional Competencies for Student Affairs Educators on August 7, 2015.

The Professional Competencies for Student Affairs Educators can be accessed electronically now. We hope that you will find these useful as you finalize fall courses and plan for professional and team development this year.

Designed and printed versions of the Professional Competencies for Student Affairs Educators will be available for purchase this fall.
