ACPA Membership & Convention Rates for ISAN Members New to the Association
Indigenous practitioners only make up about 0.5% of all higher education staff. For many practitioners within the Indigenous Student Affairs (ISA) functional area, professional development funding is extremely limited, making opportunities to connect with others in community exceptionally rare. However, not only is community culturally important for Indigenous people, it is vital for our survival in the colonized context of higher education. We must find ways to come together as much as possible.
ACPA firmly believes that creating a professional home within the association for ISA educators is an important step of the ACPA Strategic Imperative for Racial Justice and Decolonization (SIRJD) effort. The SIRJD describes ACPA’s renewed focus on reducing the oppression of communities of color and Native Americans and to provide leading research and scholarship; tools for personal, professional, and career development; and innovative praxis opportunities for members that will actively inform and reshape higher education.
ACPA has thus committed to providing free and reduced membership and convention registration to ISA educators who are new to ACPA. Without a doubt, the in-kind financial commitment from ACPA has contributed to the momentum of ISAN, not only in membership and convention attendance, but in building a true community of ISA educators.
*Special rates specifically for ACPA21, due to the lowered cost of the virtual convention, are below. Rate totals will vary based on when you register in correlation with the Priority, Early, and Regular Registration Deadlines.
