Congratulations to our 18 ACPA member campuses who represent the majority of the 26 member inaugural cohorts of the Partnership for Healthier America Healthier Campus. More than 500 corporations serving college campuses, the medical and public health and policy venues are now partnered with PHA. First Lady Michele Obama is the honorary chair of PHA.

Comprehensive solutions and cross-sector collaborations to reduce the impact of diabetes and heart disease in communities of color, Hispanic and native people are focal points of PHA research and practice. Bringing healthy alternatives for physical activities, transportation and available food to local access points--community colleges--for higher education for underrepresented communities is a high priority. We want to thank our members and the lother campus leaders for taking the lead as early adopters of PHA campus initiatives and for sharing their experiences and scholarship with our community.

Research completed by UCLA, Oklahoma State and others will be available on ACPA Video On Demand.

The positive results of vending and full service cafeteria programs are exciting. College is a time of profound change for many students–a time when new habits often are formed. By creating healthier food and physical activity environments today, campuses and universities can encourage healthier habits that will carry over into tomorrow. With that in mind, colleges and universities across the nation are teaming up with PHA to make their campuses healthier. Each college or university partner has committed to meet 23 guidelines—developed by PHA in collaboration with some of the nation’s leading nutrition, physical activity and campus wellness experts—around nutrition, physical activity, and programming on campus. See the college and university campus partners below.
