Have you registered? 3 Months until Convention! ACPA18Houston. Be Bold.
Three months from today will be the second day of ACPA’s 94th Annual Convention! Even though the early rates are no longer available, our regular registration rates continue through 9 February 2018.

What can I expect on Day 2 of Convention?

  • morning plenary featuring Tanaya Winder and Adrienne Keene, who will help center Indigenous voices

  • daily racial-identity caucus sessions

  • slate of program sessions

  • Marketplace will be open

  • ACPA Entity Groups will host open meetings

  • ACPA Awards Ceremony

  • Institutional & Group Receptions and a variety of socials!

How can I get personally involved and engaged with convention?

  • Encourage your undergraduate and graduate students (master’s level) to sign-up for the NextGen Conference. Students are encouraged to register by January to be eligible for registration and travel scholarships.

  • Serve as a Discussant for Research Paper Sessions. The Call for Discussants isopen. If you have questions, please contact Dr. Dan Tillapaugh at dtillapaugh@callutheran.edu.

  • Serve as a Next Gen Professional Development Guide and provide support during the Next Gen effort. To learn more and to apply for consideration:

  • Engage with the new Strategic Imperative on Racial Justice and Decolonization Syllabus that has been developed. The December syllabus has great links to resources.

  • If you are a Faculty member, invite members of the ACPA18 to engage your classes. We’ve engaged with students from Texas A&M and New England College over the recent weeks. Email conventionprograms@acpa.nche.edu to schedule a time today.

The Annual Convention is an exciting opportunity to create community, reconnect with colleagues, engage with presenters and speakers, and focus on professional development.

For each of us on the Convention planning committee, who serve as volunteers, the whyhas been a common goal of helping to enhance the convention experience and in making a difference. We do this work and the heavy lifting required to plan a convention because we believe in the value and importance of the experience. We believe in the value and importance of ACPA and are committed to the work that we do as student affairs and higher education professionals. We are excited about #ACPA18 in Houston and we hope that you and your colleagues can join us!
