MLCOP Standing Awards
Outstanding Contributions within the Mid-Level Community of Practice: This award recognizes contributions made by an individual or group currently active in MLCOP. The recipient(s) of this award will have created a body of work throughout the year that further expands the mission of MLCOP.
Contributions may include but are not limited to:
- A person (s) taking on a leadership role within MLCOP
- Presentations
- Committee Work
- Creation of a new program or initiative
- Examples of this person(s) going above and beyond to assist a fellow committee member
- Examples of how a person(s) attitude positively affected MLCOP
Outstanding Commitment to the Strategic Imperative for Racial Justice and Decolonization: This award recognizes outstanding contributions to the Strategic Imperative for Social Justice and Decolonization.
Possible contributions may include but are not limited to:
- A person (s) taking on a leadership role toward implementing or furthering the SISJD
- Committee Work
- Creation of a new program or initiative
- Examples of this person(s) going above and beyond to assist a fellow committee member
- Examples of how a person(s) attitude positively affected MLCOP
Outstanding Contributions to Mid-Level Professionals: This award recognizes contributions made by a person or group outside of MLCOP benefiting the Mid-Level Professional Community. Mid-Level Professionals are those who have been in the field for more than five years and are not a Senior Student Affairs Officer. Note: The winner of this award does not need to be a member of MLCOP.
Contributions may include but are not limited to:
- A person (s) taking on a leadership role
- A person (s) taking on a mentor role to benefit a Mid-Level Professional
- Committee Work
- Creation of a new program or initiative
- Examples of this person(s) going above and beyond to assist a fellow committee member
- Examples of how a person(s) attitude positively affected MLCOP
Outstanding Research, Contribution and/or Scholarship: This award recognizes research by individuals currently practicing within Student Affairs in areas applicable to mid-level managers in higher education. Research should contribute to the expansion of the profession’s body of knowledge concerning mid-level student affairs professionals, and bring greater understanding to the learning or development of the organization and administration of student affairs practice.
Potential Research/Contributions may include but are not limited:
- Surveys
- Experimental research
- Historical treatment of current issues
- Literature reviews
- Annotated bibliographies
- Publications
- Curriculum or program development
Submissions should be:
- Research/contribution must have been in the last 24 months
- Congruent with the mission and interests of ACPA.
- Must be original, journal-quality, research
- Nominee must submit a copy of their research/contribution for committee review along with other required documents for nomination.
Overall Recognition Award: This award recognizes contributions observed by a member of MLCOP benefiting the Mid-Level Professional Community. Mid-Level Professionals are those who have been in the field for more than five years and are not a Senior Student Affairs Officer. Note: Only members active within MLCOP can nominate a person(s) for this award. However, the recipient does not have to be a MLCOP member.
Contributions may include but are not limited to:
- A person (s) taking on a leadership role
- A person (s) taking on a mentor role to benefit a Mid-Level Professional
- Committee Work
- Creation of a new program or initiative
- Examples of this person(s) going above and beyond to assist a fellow committee member
