Commission for Assessment and Evaluation

The Commission for Assessment and Evaluation (CAE) is hard at work developing some great assessment resources for you! These resources will be announced over the course of the next few months as they become available. Keep reading to learn more about some of our upcoming projects and how you can provide input!

2016 Student Affairs Assessment Institute: If you’re interested in this immersive, 3-day experience taking place in Baltimore, MD on June 21-24, check out the Institute website. This year’s Institute includes a curricular track on “Assessing the First Year Experience,” in collaboration with the National Resource Center on the First Year Experience. Early-bird registration ends 5/27/16! The 2017 location will be announced soon!

Webinars and Book Discussions: Every year CAE offers a variety of webinars and web-based book discussions to help keep your assessment skills sharp! Last year we hosted topics, such as Framing Assessment for Career Services and Developing a Culture of Assessment. Interested in any particular topic, books, or article? Contact cae@acpa.nche.edu with your ideas. The schedule for the upcoming academic year is in development and will be published mid-summer 2016.

Online Learning: CAE’s Online Learning team has been excitedly exploring the possibilities presented by ACPA’s new MyPROfolio system. We are seeking to identify and meet the assessment education needs of our members through the development and use of online education modules specifically tied to the ACPA/NASPA Competencies. This project is in the early stages of its development, but if you have any thoughts, insight, or would like to be more involved, contact cae@acpa.nche.edu.

Articles in ACPA’s Developments magazine: CAE will publish a series of four pieces in ACPA’s Developments magazine that focus on the professional reflections of student affairs practitioners on assessment. Also in progress is a piece titled “Myths of Assessment.” Look for these articles coming soon to Developments.

2016 Residential Curriculum Institute: CAE also collaborates with the Commission for Housing & Residential Life to bring you the Residential Curriculum Institute. The 2016 Residential Curriculum Institute will be held in Tampa, FL from October 16-19, 2016.

New Facebook Page: CAE has transitioned to a new page on Facebook.  Make sure to like us so that you can follow news from the Commission.
