Proposed Bylaws Changes

The ACPA Governing Board has approved a set of proposed changes to the ACPA Bylaws to come before the full voting membership of the Association. Changes to the ACPA Bylaws require a two-thirds approval vote from the members who participate in the voting process before amendments can be made. The proposed changes are being presented to you as individual voting decisions and each is described below for additional context and consideration.

JCSD seeks new Editor

ACPA invites applications for the Editor of the Journal of College Student Development (JCSD). The Editor will be named in mid-2019 to a five-year term that commences July 1, 2020. The Journal is well-supported financially by both ACPA and the publisher with an operational budget and funding for a graduate assistant. Some support is also required of the Editor’s institution including physical space and technological infrastructure for the journal operation.

December 25, 1930 – January 30, 2019

ACPA-College Student Educators International joins higher education and student affairs colleagues in mourning the passing of Richard (Dick) Basil Caple, Ed.D., former editor of ACPA’s Journal of College Student Development and past president of the Missouri College Personnel Association, on Wednesday, 30 January, 2019. Our condolences and best wishes are extended to Dr. Caple’s family, friends, and members of the University of Missouri, where he was Professor Emeritus.

November 2018 Title IX Amendments

As representatives of student affairs leaders and college student educators, ACPA–College Student Educators International (ACPA) unites with the community of advocates for victims and survivors of sexual violence in our concern over the newly proposed changes from the Department of Education to Title IX administration and adjudication.We strongly encourage institutions to continue centralizing and supporting the rights and human dignity of students.
