30 Most Promising Places to Work in the US, Plus Canada, in Student Affairs

Fairfax, Va.—In honor of its year-long 30th anniversary celebration, Diverse: Issues In Higher Education has teamed up with the American College Personnel Association (ACPA) to present a new national study: 30+ Promising Places to Work in Student Affairs. The findings will be released in the March 27, 2014 edition of Diverse magazine.

Announcing the Position of Director of Professional Development, Elect

The Governing Board has appointed Lisa Landreman, Associate Dean of Students at Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, USA, to the position of Director of Professional Development, Elect.  Lisa will serve in the elect role during the 2014-15 year and assume the position from 2015-2017.   Congratulations to Lisa!

ACPA to Hold its 2016 Annual Convention in Montreal, Canada

Washington, D.C.—January 31, 2013—The ACPA Governing Board voted unanimously to hold its first annual convention in Montreal, Canada in 2016.

This will be the first time in ACPA’s 92-year history that an ACPA Annual Convention is held outside of the United States. Plans to consistently adopt a more global approach to professional development for its approximately 7,500 individual members from 1,200 institutions of higher/tertiary education in 21 countries have been in the works for more than a decade.
