ACPA's Commission for Admissions, Orientation and the First Year Experience is constantly looking for ways in which professionals can stay up to date with their own development throughout the year. However, with so many options for engagement, it can sometimes become overwhelming determining how one can find the development opportunities best suited to them. That is why AOFYE is proud to release the Professional Development Curriculum to its members.
The AOFYE Professional Development Curriculum is an open access, live document that is meant to aggregate various developmental opportunities within the fields of admissions, orientation, and the first-year experience. The curriculum is broken into three components.
-
Upcoming developmental opportunities and resources sponsored by AOFYE, including anticipated dates for webcasts, blogs, and submission deadlines. Additionally, for all recent developmental opportunities sponsored by the commission, hyperlinks are provided to access these resources throughout the year.
-
Information on national conferences, meetings, and call for programs relevant to the fields of admissions, orientation, and the first-year experience. General information is also provided on relevant regional/state conferences.
-
A working topical timeline of areas common to practitioners within admissions, orientation, and the first-year experience. While this list is not exhaustive nor representative of all institutions, it does work as a guide to inform the work of the commission and its members.
This resource is meant to be updated throughout the year, and we welcome your feedback if you believe any information is missing. You can access the Professional Development Curriculum by clicking here.
