Welcome to the Commission for Two-Year Colleges!

Commission Purpose 

The Commission for Two-Year Colleges is directly concerned with issues relevant to student development programs at two-year institutions. Additionally, it is designed to promote the improvement of student development programs; enhance the professional development of student development personnel; and serve as an advocate for student development programs at two-year institutions.

The Commission Two-Year Colleges enhances your work with students by:

  • Providing professional development opportunities through sponsored programs at ACPA's annual convention, commission-sponsored regional workshops, and co-sponsored programs with other national student development in two-year college focused organizations.
  • Affording opportunities for you to network with other student development professionals via social media, conferences, and workshops.
  • Providing current information and resources about student affairs issues relevant to two-year colleges as well as general updates in ACPA by leveraging communication resources, including: ACPA Chatter, Facebook, and Twitter.
  • Connecting you to job placement opportunities through ACPA's placement services.
  • Facilitating annual Commission Awards to recognize the great contributions of two-year college professionals to the field.
  • Providing opportunities for you to dialogue with other college student development professionals from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

60 Years of History!

60th Anniversary Resolution:

WHEREAS, the Commission for Two Year Colleges celebrates 60 years of active service to higher education and the student affairs profession; and

WHEREAS, the Commission for Two Year Colleges provides their members with opportunities to promote the improvement of student development programs; enhance the professional development of student development personnel; and serve as an advocate for student development programs at two-year institutions; and

WHEREAS, the Commission for Two Year Colleges affords their members opportunities to build strong professional networks to improve their connections to and sense of place within the profession and the association; and

WHEREAS, the Commission for Two Year Colleges has shaped the profession of student affairs since their chartering in 1961; and

THEREFORE, be it resolved that on this 60th Anniversary, ACPA-College Student Educators International extends it congratulations to Commission for Two Year Colleges, their membership, and their leadership.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that ACPA-College Student Educators International extends its gratitude to the leadership of Commission for the Two Year Colleges who have proudly and competently served their Commission and ACPA-College Student Educators International.
