Dr. Jodi Linley has agreed to serve CLGBTA as the 2016-2018 Scholar in Residence. Jodi is an Assistant Professor of Higher Education and Student Affairs (HESA) at the University of Iowa, where she also serves as HESA Program Coordinator. She holds a Ph.D. in higher, adult, and lifelong education from Michigan State University and a MA degree in student development from the University of Iowa. Jodi’s research broadly focuses on diversity in higher education. More specifically, Jodi studies college student meaning-making about campus culture; minoritized college student success, particularly students of color, LGBTQ students, and military-connected students; higher education socialization; and underrepresented populations in STEM fields. Jodi has published in ACPA’s Journal of College Student Development, College Teaching, NASPA Journal About Women in Higher Education, New Directions for Student Services, among others. Jodi teaches graduate courses on college student psychosocial and identity development, issues and policies in higher education, leadership, and critical research methods. At the 2016 ACPA Convention, Jodi was awarded the Voice of Inclusion Medallion and the CGSNP Outstanding Mentor to Graduate Students award.
